Will AI Affect The Thumbnail Design Business?
No. I teach my students my exact method for looking for clients who have more money than time. You should stay away from clients that are trying to save a few bucks and are willing to spend hours messing around with AI until they get a result that they like. Those ARE NOT the clients that me or my students work with and they're not the clients that you should be trying to work with. AI will make (and has already made) our work as thumbnail designers faster and better, and our clients love that!
Do you teach this in a simple step-by-step tutorial style?
Yes! Think of my teaching style like following a recipe! I know that we are all really busy and simply don't have the time to figure out stuff by ourselves. So I teach in simple, clear, easy-to-follow steps. Step #1 leads to Step #2 and Step #2 leads to Step #3 and so on. Additionally, the 36 modules and 10h of content are all scripted and presented in a powerpoint slide so every second has been planned and packed with knowledge.
Is this for beginners or more advanced?
It's actually both. Let me explain. This is the complete and entire guide to how I make money as a thumbnail designer. I didn't leave anything out, it's ALL there. This means (if you're more advanced!) a few of the videos that focus on thumbnail best practices will seem basic BUT (if you're a beginner!) you will appreciate me carefully teaching all the details. 70% of this course is focused on the business side of building a thumbnail business and ONLY 30% talks about thumbnails. Most graphic designers struggle with getting clients so the academy is focused more on that.
Does this require paid ads to work?
No! I've never used paid ads to start or frow my thumbnail business. All the strategies that I use for getting clients and growing the business are free.
Do you personally help me get clients as a thumbnail designer?
No. The academy teaches you how to get your own clients and build a sustainable monthly income as quickly as possible. But I don't do hand-holding. I won't be giving you clients. I will teach you how to find clients on your own so don't have to rely on anyone!
Can't I learn all of this on YouTube?
Honestly, you can't. The academy includes business strategies and thumbnail knowledge that I've tested, analyzed, reiterated, and tested again over the years. I've been interested in online business since I was 21 (currently I'm 29), I've read more than 100 business books and I've invested more than $13,000 in business courses so far. The strategies taught in the academy are a mix of what I've learned + new strategies that I developed myself so it's pretty much impossible to find these tips on YouTube, especially when you consider the condensed and step-by-step nature of the academy.
How much time should I dedicate to the course each day?
You can learn at your own pace. You'll need about a week to finish the course and then another week or so to set everything up. With around 2h of work per day, you should be ready to start getting clients in 2 weeks. Keep in mind that I also have students that have completed the course and gotten their 1st client within 2 weeks. So they got the money they paid for this investment within 2 weeks of joining and got a client that will probably keep paying them for moths.
Will you teach me how to design in Photoshop?
No. I will teach you how to think about thumbnails, thumbnail mistakes, thumbnail best practices AND how to get clients for your business. 70% of the course is focused on making money. If you enroll in the academy, you should know how to use Photoshop at least at a basic level, or you should be willing to learn that on your own. I'm self-taught myself so I'm not the best person to teach you how to add shadows or clean backgrounds. I'm the best person to teach you how to make money from your skills though.
Why are you sharing everything? Aren't you scared of competition?
If I was worried about damaging my business, you can be sure that I wouldn't share my secrets with you. There are 3.7 million videos uploaded on YouTube daily (that number is increasing every year) and there are thousands of new channels created daily. So I'm not worried about competition. There's work for all of us.
